APEX Surgical Centre for Oral and Facial Surgery is a Maxillofacial surgery clinic located in Kamloops which specializes in the practice of full scope oral and maxillofacial surgery. With expertise ranging from wisdom tooth removal and dental implant surgery to corrective jaw surgery, management of facial deformities and traumatic facial injuries. We aim to provide the highest level of oral, facial and implant surgical services to patients in Kamloops and surrounding area.
The Surgical Centre will be staffing the clinic with professional staff that will provide exceptional patient care and support. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals who want to work as part of a team focused on patients and excellence.
Reporting to the Surgeon, the Registered Nurse is a key member of the clinic team and plays an important role in the clinic’s surgical procedures and patient treatment by ensuring the overall wellness, safety and care to patients, assisting the surgeon as required, administering medications and sedation, reviewing post-operative instructions with patients, and planning each day for treatment. Ensures quality and accuracy in pre-operative, operative and post-operative procedures and processes.
Current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) is required, plus a minimum of three years’ recent, related experience in an acute care and critical care environment such as the ER, OR, PACU, ICU. Experience with procedural sedation is preferred.
Completion of a recognized Critical Care Nursing program or completion of a recognized Advanced program in Emergency Care Nursing is an asset.
Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. An equivalent combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.
